“I always consider the settlement of America as the opening of a grand scheme and design in Providence for the illumination of the ignorant and the emancipation of the slavish part of mankind all over the earth.”

I find it unavoidable in the light of the above mentioned that darkness is only a metaphor for what the scientist doesn’t see yet, 85% of the planet, and 85% of the universe also.

That we are “in the dark” only because we are all scientists with a thirst for knowledge. and to not use the dark, as a metaphor. To jump to conclusions, is great, great folly. Better love in the dark, then hate.
