Sending out hell fire, poisonous gas, tremendous earhquakes, deeply alarming sound acoustics, swallowing persons whole, sacraficing large amounts of populations to the voĺcano to appease its ferocity.  All show a darkness seeming impenetrable, but alas maybe survivable on more socially human terms.
